READINGS FOR WRITERS
This one-credit Web Blackboard course allows the student an opportunity to read and report on fiction that explores your particular area of interest and on your time schedule. I will also assist in research projects intended to be used to develop works of fiction. For all other topics, I recommend you speak with one of the other faculty members who offer this course. This is an entirely online class and is eighty percent self-directed. There are guidelines on the website to help start you off and I give online feedback along the way. Although a campus consulation can be arranged, there are no required campus meetings.

INTRO TO WRITING FICTION
You're going to learn the foundations of basic story telling from concept through plot, characterization, setting and tone. Each classroom meeting will include at least thirty minutes to freewrite original fictional pieces except on workshop meetings, where students give and take feedback on the work in progress. Individual instructor feedeback will aid your development as a writer. You are welcome to use a word processor or laptop to take notes and during writing time. This course meets Wednesday nights from 7pm to 10pm.
